  • The company is non profit making.
  • The company’s objectives are to bring People Together to enhance the community in which we live.
  • To bring Businesses Together to enhance the business environment, the opportunities and bring benefits to the town.
  • To bring Tourism Together to broadcast the attractions of Droitwich Spa to the wider world and to make visitors welcome.
  • For Droitwich Spa is a membership organisation that tries to represent the town in accordance with our objectives stated above.

All residents of Droitwich Spa, as individuals, are automatically free ordinary members of For Droitwich Spa and we welcome your views at all times on any issues affecting the town and things you would like to see on the website. We are not connected with any local authorities but do have dialogue with various organisations and feedback helps us understand the views of residents and assists us to promote the towns views on issues that arise.

We also have corporate memberships for businesses and we would be pleased to hear from businesses who wish to join.

The objectives of For Droitwich Spa are:

  • To bring People Together to enhance the community in which we live.
  • To bring Businesses Together to enhance the business environment, increase opportunities, and produce benefits for them and the town.
  • To bring Tourism Together to broadcast the attractions of Droitwich Spa to the wider world and to make visitors welcome.

These objectives are achieved by championing these areas and the people and businesses to promote them and the historic town of Droitwich Spa. We organise or help to organise events and initiatives to benefit the economy of these areas and the town. We liaise with the Town Council and local authorities to assist their activities in promoting the above areas.

People together

We aim to bring people together to fulfil their interests, for enjoyment, education and to enrich the community spirit within the town. We try to enrich the lives of everyone young and old.

Some of our previous and present projects and representation by directors include:

  • Running a website www.droitwichspa.com with a comprehensive range of information and facilities that furthers our objectives and highlights activities in the town. It also vitally acts as a portal for and to the outside world.
  • Organising the Christmas Lights and festivities (now organised by the Town Council).
  • Organising Town Carnivals.
  • Organising the annual Music and Arts Festival.
  • Working with the Droitwich Spa Area Partnership Manager (appointed by Wychavon District Council) on other town events and promotions.
  • Taking part in the Town Plan Group which created a Town Plan reflecting what the residents want the town to look like in the future.
  • Taking part as members of local committees dealing with community issues.
  • Providing seed corn finance for a music initiative in the local Pyramid Schools.
  • Running music workshops and master classes for young people.
  • Supporting the Droitwich Waterway (Pamela May) Trust and its continued promotion of the canal following its successful opening on 1 July 2011.
  • Raising grants and funding for community events.

(Funds from Government and Local Authorities can be limited. Additional sponsorships and other means of raising funds for activities to promote the town and its businesses are often needed.)

Businesses together

We work with local businesses to help promote them in order to increase their prosperity and that of the town.

Some past and present projects have been and are:

  • Promoting buy local campaigns and local businesses on www.droitwichspa.com.
  • Creating and maintaining a business listing for the town and promoting this via the website.
  • Encouraging businesses to link via their own website to www.droitwichspa.com or to help businesses establish their own website.
  • Business advertising on the website.
  • Organising or taking part in business forums and presentations.
  • Organising local market days.
  • Working with the Droitwich Spa Area Partnership Manager on campaigns and events to promote businesses.
  • Liaising with the small, medium and larger businesses and companies, as well as national and international companies, represented in the town to establish their needs.
  • Supporting the regeneration of the Droitwich Canal and the potential business and employment opportunities.
  • Supporting the Town Plan objectives of providing a well organised business friendly environment.
  • Providing opportunities for businesses to sponsor events to increase their profile and enhance local community public relations.

Tourism together

Our objective is to publicise the attractions of Droitwich Spa today and its rich historic heritage to attract visitors to the town.

Past and present activities include:

  • Promotion of the history of the town and present day attractions, leisure activities and events on www.droitwichspa.com.This reaches a national and international audience.
  • Featuring a virtual town tour on the website that can also be followed by visitors to the town.
  • Promoting local market days.
  • Organising the Christmas lights and festivities (now organised by the Town Council).
  • Running the Droitwich Spa Music and Arts Festival.
  • Working with Droitwich Spa Area Partnership Manager (appointed by Wychavon District Council) to improve visitors to the town and the visitor experience.
  • Promoting local attractions like the open air Lido and the Brine Baths.
  • Supporting the regeneration of the Droitwich Canal and its potential to increase visitors to the town.
  • Supporting improvements to the shopping experience to attract shoppers from outside the town.
  • Supporting the Town Plan created by residents and its objective to increase visitor numbers.
  • We work with media contacts to promote events and the town’s image in order to attract visitors.
